I periodically created playlist thumbnails for Spotify featuring Crunchyroll’s mascot, Hime, using a template supplied by Spotify so we could visualize where all of the visual elements would sit in the final version. I pulled the Hime illustrations from our extensive library of art and adjusted the color values to create a high-contrast, black and white effect.
The Hime art for Crunchyroll Anime Essentials was commissioned for our Winter 2021 season launch campaign in a ’90s shojo anime style, and I was so thrilled to get to use her for something again!
